Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our website or engaging our satellite TV installation services provided by DStv Installers Centurion (“we,” “us,” or “our”). 2.1 Quotes and Estimates

We provide free, no-obligation quotes for our services. Quotes may be provided:

  • Over the phone based on your description of requirements
  • Via email after reviewing your online quote request
  • In person during a site visit

2.2 Quote Overrides

The service duration and actual cost of providing the service by our technicians on-site may override the initial quote or price given over the phone. This is because our technicians have firsthand information and knowledge of the actual scope of work once they assess the situation in person. Factors that may affect the final cost include:

  • Additional materials needed not identified during initial consultation
  • Unforeseen complications (e.g., wall construction, cable routing challenges)
  • Specific requirements not initially communicated
  • Additional equipment or services requested on-site

Important: If any significant price adjustment is needed, our technician will discuss this with you and obtain your approval before proceeding with additional work. You are never obligated to proceed with work beyond the original scope.

3. Appointments and Scheduling

3.1 Scheduling

Customers can schedule installation appointments through our website, email, WhatsApp, or phone. We strive to accommodate your preferred date and time, subject to technician availability.

3.2 Confirmation

Appointments are confirmed via phone or SMS 24 hours before the scheduled time. Please ensure your contact details are accurate.

3.3 Cancellation and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made less than 2 hours before the appointment may incur a cancellation fee of R150
  • Rescheduling is free with at least 24 hours’ notice
  • If our technician arrives and cannot access the property, a wasted trip fee of R150 may apply

3.4 Punctuality

Our technicians arrive within the agreed time window. If unforeseen delays occur, we’ll notify you as soon as possible.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash (on completion)
  • EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
  • Credit/Debit cards (via our secure mobile payment system)
  • E-wallets (Send Money, etc.)

4.2 Payment Schedule

  • Payment is due upon completion of service
  • Full settlement should be made before our technicians leave your residence or site
  • Proof of payment should be provided to the technician

4.3 Additional Fees

Additional fees may apply for:

  • Services not included in the standard installation package
  • Specialized equipment or materials
  • After-hours or emergency services
  • Travel beyond our standard service area

Any additional fees will be communicated and approved before work proceeds.

5. Warranty and Support

5.1 Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind our work with the following warranties:

  • Installation workmanship: 3 months warranty on all installation services
  • Signal repairs: 1 month warranty on repair work
  • Equipment (if supplied by us): Warranty as specified by the manufacturer (typically 12 months)

5.2 Warranty Conditions

Warranty is valid provided:

  • The issue is due to our workmanship, not external factors (weather, damage, unauthorized modifications)
  • You contact us within the warranty period
  • Access is provided for our technician to assess the issue

5.3 Support

For any issues or support requests after installation, please contact us. We’ll assist you promptly and, if needed, schedule a follow-up visit.

6. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a successful installation, customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the property and requirements
  • Ensure safe and accessible work areas for our technicians
  • Obtain any necessary permissions (body corporate, estate management, landlord) for installations
  • Secure pets during installation for safety
  • Ensure payment is ready upon completion

7. Liability and Insurance

7.1 Our Liability

While we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our technicians and equipment during installations, DStv Installers Centurion is not liable for any damages that may occur to property or equipment during the service, unless such arises as a result of negligence on the part of our technicians.

7.2 Insurance

We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance. If you believe damage has occurred due to our negligence, please notify us within 24 hours so we can investigate and address the matter.

7.3 Customer Property

Customers are responsible for providing a safe and accessible work area. We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage or defects
  • Issues arising from property conditions (e.g., wall construction, electrical wiring)
  • Consequential damages (e.g., lost viewing time, content recording loss)

8. Equipment and Materials

8.1 Customer-Supplied Equipment

If you supply your own equipment (decoders, LNBs, cables), we install it at your risk. We recommend using quality, certified equipment for optimal performance.

8.2 Our-Supplied Equipment

Equipment supplied by us is new, authentic, and covered by manufacturer warranty. We’ll provide proof of purchase.

9. Site Access and Safety

9.1 Access

For estates and security complexes, please ensure:

  • Our technician’s details are provided to security in advance
  • Access instructions are clear and communicated to us
  • Someone is present to grant access (or arrangements made for key handover)

9.2 Safety

Our technicians follow strict safety protocols. If we deem a site unsafe (e.g., unstable roof, hazardous conditions), we reserve the right to postpone the installation until conditions are safe.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is our property or used with permission and is protected by South African and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

17. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, weather conditions, power outages, strikes, or civil disturbances.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision shall be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and DStv Installers Centurion regarding your use of our services, superseding any prior agreements between you and us.

20. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
